Vegetable Internships (6-12 mo; 2 yr apprenticeships available for the right applicant)
General Description: We use biological methods to produce healthy chemical free nutrient dense foods. We host an on farm farmers market, participate in weekly markets throughout the state, as well as operate a CSA program. Our farm is 3500 acres, 500 of which are now dedicated to sustainable agricultural production, and 1550 of which are dedicated to providing a natural wildlife habitat. We are open to all races, creeds, ages, sexes, and sexual orientations.
Minimum Length of Stay: 6 Months
Internship Begins: August/September 2016
Internship Ends (less time): February/March 2017
Meals: Apprentices can cook together or independently depending on personality and diet.
Skills Desired: - Upbeat, willing to learn attitude. Honest and dependable. – Ability to work alone or in a group as part of a team. - Applicants must be able to handle physically strenuous, repetitive tasks in all weather conditions, and must specifically have the ability to repetitively lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds. Interns experience every aspect of organic, healthy, chemical-free crop production. Interns will generally work 30 hour weeks. Responsibilities may include: Harvesting, post-harvest handling, working markets, preparing soil, seeding, cultivating, and weeding. We thoroughly research references.
Educational Opportunities: Interns will learn business development, organic vegetable production & management. Every day will be a learning experience but we will encourage our interns to visit other farms and attend at least one farm conference/workshop during the season. The learning process is hands on.
Stipend: $100 per week plus housing, utilities, wireless high speed internet. Plus vegetables & eggs from the farm.
Housing: Apprentice housing is a farmhouse on the property with internet connection. Bedrooms are private, but bathroom, kitchen, and other common areas are shared.

Internship Details: We are looking for an energetic, good-natured, and committed intern for 2016 beginning in September to help us in our sixth season at Inglewood Farm. Interns will learn and be involved in all aspects organic vegetable production and management on 23 Acres. The internship will run for approximately 26 weeks, with a weekly stipend, housing, and vegetables. We would like a six-month to a year commitment so that the intern has the chance to see a full season here on the farm.
